Speak

Speak is a movie that talks about the story of a girl, Melinda, who was raped by a senior boy during a party in the summer before her first year of high school. After being raped she was so traumatized, and the first thing that she did was calling 911. But for this reason she became a "squealer" (it was the name that the boys of her school used to call her) because nobody knows that she was raped, on the contrary they thought that she ruined the party without a reason. Since her first day like freshman she used to be mute because she did not want to speak. Before she was a very good girl , she used to study very much, she was nice, she spoke. But her life became completely different. She had no friends and she became a bad student. But there was a subject where she found a differend way to explain her feeling. Art. Infact the art teacher ,Mr. freeman, encourage students expression, and he had a good relationship with his students. So, at last, Melinda found the courage to say that she was raped and she also found the answer to her problem, because she understood that she could not solve her bloblem without speak.

  1. It's a very good thing that Melinda express herself with art.. Mr Freeman is fantastic because he understands that Melinda has got some problems. I want to have a teacher like him!

It started off from a little trick I had on guitar. I played it to Mal and he said 'Oh, I've got a good rhythm idea that will sit well in the back.' We built the song up from that ... It was really just a case of finding a good title. We came up with this thunder thing and it seemed to have a good ring to it. AC/DC=Power. That's the basic idea.
